So, many a time have I tried to keep a blog on this website - and i decided to give it another shot. Mainly because my friend got one to and it seemed like a nice thing, to have at least one person read this thing :)
Today wasn't particularly exciting, and consisted only of popping out to sainsbury's with my mum (I know you're thinking 'what a thrilling life this person has' right?) - trust me my social life doesnt just extend to visiting local supermarkets when the impulse strikes me :)
I had a sudden urge earlier to visit the arboretum - there's one here that really is lovely. It seems so out of place when you look at the streets near it but literally - once you're in it you could be anywhere in England. I haven't been in a while...need to schedule a visit some time soon.
Anyway, the highlight of my day was yet again downloading Daughtry. Sadly I lost him as with the rest of my iTunes library when my last computer died on me and I was reunited with him at last. His voice is gorgeous, and I could listen to it forever. The album is really good, some decent ballads in there and it's just nice to have a bit of pure rock on your ipod. Nowadays genres of music are so messed up it's actually kind of hard to categorise everything; because recently and artist can apply to at least 2 genres per song. Just goes to show that even if you pledge your alliegance to one type of music...you're probably lying because everything really blends.
Not black and white, but definately shades of grey.
But yeah...Daughtry...it's one of those albums where i can't choose a favourite track, because you fall in love with at least 4 for completely different reasons. *Sigh* I love finding decent music.

Ah, Hayley, your blog has the coolest name. ^^
ReplyDeleteYeah, Daughtry is amazing. I love the acoustic versions of his songs as well; especially Crashed as it reminds me of sitting with you on the way to Alton Towers. =D
And you're completely correct about the way that nowadays music is harder and harder to categorise. So many styles are different that they get called 'Alternative', but now there are so many alternative songs that it's almost ironic that they're called that.
