Nothing like the good ol' days

So lately I've just been wishing that things are different. Not so much go back in terms of actual life things, but in terms of certain friendships and things...i definately wish i could turn back time.

In the past couple of months everything's been changing so fast it's a little hard to keep up sometimes. Not to mention people are giving me strange vibes and I've been noticing a lot of differences in people I used to admire. Not any more.

It really is a shame sometimes.

Don't you just love a Hot Mess?

I do! Especially in the form of Cobra Starships new album entitled 'Hot Mess'! Whaddayaknow?

I am a fan of the electro/pop/rock band anyway, and fell evenmore in love with them when I saw them in Nottingham earlier on in the year. They were in a word AWESOME. It doesn't even do them justice. Their old album, Viva la Cobra, was in my mind a hit. It was smart, sassy and had some classic signature tracks that will definately feature on their greatest hits CD in a decades time.

But this time...they've stepped it up a notch. It's louder, better, and catchier than any of their previous stuff. It's all high octane party tracks and definately one for those who want a bit of attitude on their iPod. My advice? Get it now.

They've hit it big in America and have gradually becoming more mentioned in the UK. I pray they break into the market hear because I can guarantee they will do awesome. Especially in light of the current wave of electro music that's making it's way to your ears. They deserve to be up there as pioneers of partying.

P.S. Don't just the album by it's cover, personally it's not my favourite.

I survived swine flu and all I got was a story to write about in my blog.

As you may have guessed from the discreet title, it is suspected that I had swine flu!! The dreaded virus that is slowly making it's way through the population as we speak/type. Well, I survived so I'm definately chuffed - and am not as scared as the media is trying to make me. It really isn't as big as everyone believes it is. So I was ill, and felt a little crappy for a week. I didn't even know it was swine flu! But apparently I only had it mildy. My awesome immune system must've kept it off :D

Other than that my life hasn't really been very interesting. Schoolwork is coming in, but it keeps me busy. In fact I should be doing it now...ah well.

Illness is a state of mind

I've been very slow with the updates lately, and once I explain the reason why I think all will be forgiven. Wouldn't want to disappoint ALL the people that read my blog....*rolls eyes*.

Anyway, for the past week I've been really ill. Blinding stomach pains, headaches, and complete exhaustion ..the works basically. It hasn't been good.

I did manage to watch a couple of films though. The best, being Phantom of the Opera. Oh my Lord, this film is monumental. I cannot believe I have waited this long to see it. It's beautiful, and dark and amazing. Gerard Butler plays the Phantom, and does so brilliantly by the way, although I still wonder if it was his voice. I'll just check.

- 5 minutes later -

He did!! Wow. It is now possibly one of my favourite films. (Not just because Gerard Butler actually did sing in it, but because it is so enchanting.) The story itself, is actually quite magical. You can't quite believe it's set in this world. Well, I couldn't anyway. It made me laugh, it made me cry a hell of a lot more and it made me fall in love with it.

It's getting closer

Tomorrow's the day. My sixth form career begins and then it's only a matter of time before life in school ends. It's going to be a little surreal I think. I'll believe it when it happens. At the moment I'm focussing on the present and speaking of the present...

I'm going to vent a little.
Hypocrite by definition means: a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess.

The above, is exactly the kind of trait that I absolutely cannot stand to see in a person. I actually am not afraid to say, I hate hypocrites. Okay, maybe 'hate' isn't the right word. Let's just say I thoroughly dislike the hypocritic side of people. People who preach all this stuff, not to do; then later on do it themselves. I know a few actually; who may be oblivious to the fact they're a hypocrite but it still does not excuse having double standards. Holding people that are pretty close to you to some high regard and tearing it down for yourself. In my honest opinion, that is such a bad thing to do.
