Catching up...

So I haven't been on here in aaaages!! And to be honest my life hasn't exactly been piccadilly circus lately.

Ah well, times change. My lifes going in more peaks and troughs now.

Anyhoo, I have to; and I mean have to (!) tell the world about Mutemath. My new found love! I have literally been blown away by their music. So talented and the music is just beautifully composed. Their most recent album - Armistice - has a gorgeous mix of upbeat tracks, blended perfectly with the mellow and reflective. 'The lost year' is a track that has come to mean a lot to me, purely because the lyrics seem to apply to my current feelings and/or happennings in my life. If you have read any of my other 'reviews' then you will start to notice that lyrics are pretty much the first thing i leap to. And these guys write beautifully. They speak volumes and cut right to the heart of the emotion in the song. In my opinion they are perfect. It's indie rock at it's best. The music is layered and has so many different slants to it plus; vocalist Paul Meany adds a completely new dimension on his own. His voice is unique and suits the overall style of their music down to the ground :)

I would definately recommend them to anyone who likes artists like The Black Ghosts, Newton Faulkner and One Republic. I'm not saying that these artists are similar, because they definately aren't - but I can imagine them being liked by those who enjoy bands that are original and are a little under the radar
