When electric hearts collide

This morning I was taking a nice hot shower, when the water suddenly turned absolutely freezing...we had had a powercut (hoorah). That left me to wash the conditioner out of my hair with water that was at most 5 degrees celcius and I can tell you it wasn't nice. Especially when you cant actually dry it because there is NO electricity.

It made me think actually. People nowadays are so reliant upon technology and electricity. I mean, when the power cut out; the first thing I heard my brother say was he hates it because he can't play COD4. And taking it on a wider spectrum, we have the internet, television, music...practically everything we enjoy involves electricity and to be honest, without it, we humans would be lost. Don't get me wrong the progress that man has made with technology is astounding but for all of that, we are all becoming addicted to technology.

I'm not saying I'm a saint; because I'm as bad as the next person. I'm updated my internet blog and browse the internet almost everyday. I watch TV, listen to music, download music and have a huge thing for DVD's. I just think a powercut is all we need to realise how prominent technology is in our lives.

  1. The Matrix had a point! As do you. I hate powercuts, but at least I get by through reading or doodling. x
